Two Care Plans are available. One covers the 861 Reference Surround Sound Controller, while the other covers G Series and C Series Surround Sound Controllers.

Both Care Plans include a full inspection of the Surround Sound Controller by authorised, Meridian-trained engineers, updating it where necessary to the highest specification appropriate to the model and configuration; updating hardware and firmware as appropriate; certifying the Health Check; and registering the Surround Controller with Meridian for an extended warranty (5 years in the case of the 861 and 3 years in the case of G and C series Controllers).

With your returned unit, you will receive a certificate confirming the registration of the new warranty period.

The new boutique is the company's first dedicated showroom in the Middle East and provides the flagship location for Kuwaiti customers to experience Meridian's range of award winning luxury home entertainment systems.

International retail design specialists KVB Design developed the concept for the Meridian Kuwait showroom. John Buchanan comments: "The showroom aims to fuse traditional luxury with cutting edge design in a uniquely British way. KVB worked with Meridian to select natural materials such as hard woods, leather and fabrics in combination with technological accents like fine metals, architectural glass and lighting to reflect Britain's reputation for prestige and technical luxury throughout the store. Middle Eastern consumers have long had respect for British quality, innovation and performance which have always been key pillars of the Meridian brand."

Open to the public from April 25th, the boutique in Kuwait City is the latest dedicated Meridian showroom to launch. The company now has standalone boutiques in England (Oxford), India (New Delhi and Bangalore), Mexico (Mexico City), Chile (Santiago), Taiwan (Taipei), South Korea (Seoul), Singapore plus two in Russia (Moscow). Meridian's first concept store opened in Thailand (Bangkok) in 2009.

The XJ Ultimate is the top-of-the-range variant of Jaguar's award-winning XJ saloon. Ian Callum, Director of Design, Jaguar, says: "Given the XJ Ultimate's exclusive specification we wanted to equip it with the very best audio system available; Meridian's exceptional quality and expertise made it the perfect partner to enable us to deliver this ambition. The result will be a truly stunning listening experience for our customers."

Specially designed and developed for the XJ Ultimate, the Meridian Surround Sound System includes 15 channels of amplification and 20 loudspeakers strategically positioned throughout the cabin. Meridian's unique Digital Signal Processing technologies allow every person travelling in the XJ Ultimate to enjoy the same musical experience, placing them at the focus of the sound. Meridian achieves this through its Trifield technology that creates an all-enveloping soundfield that makes each listener feel that the music is exclusively focused on them.

Meridian's Co-Founder, Chairman and Chief Technical Officer, Bob Stuart, says that the Meridian Surround Sound System offered in the XJ Ultimate will set new standards in the luxury saloon car class. He explains: "Cars do present unique challenges when it comes to acoustic reproduction, but I believe that these are the first car systems that truly mirror the memorable experience that can be enjoyed through an original musical performance."

Stuart adds: "We are very proud to be adding yet another iconic British company to the expanding portfolio of our automotive division."

The bespoke facility in Seymour Place has been carefully designed and engineered to reflect a contemporary living space, whilst also providing clients with a powerful visual and listening experience. This comes courtesy of a cutting-edge technology multiple system showcase featuring the Meridian MF10 Digital Projector with DSP5200 Loudspeakers and DSW Digital Subwoofer, the recently-launched M6 Loudspeakers,  Audio Core 200 multi-source preamplifier and Control 15 Digital Media System. 

Meridian is well established in the UK’s South East, thanks to a network of Premium Partners and the opening of the first boutique in Oxford last year. In 2008, the marque formed a partnership with luxury men’s brand, Alfred Dunhill, allowing guests at the Bourdon House private member’s club near Berkeley Square to enjoy access to a complete Meridian Digital Theatre within the club’s guest accommodation areas. 

More recently, Knightsbridge-headquartered Jet Business (above) has incorporated the high-performance Meridian M6 Loudspeakers and Control 15 Digital Media System into the world’s first-ever street-level corporate aviation showroom, where the system offers a refined acoustic backdrop for the organisation’s clients and personnel.

‘British Design 1948-2012: Innovation in the Modern Age', highlights significant elements in the history of British design since the Olympics were last held in London in 1948, in the midst of post-war austerity. Drawing on the V&A's unrivalled collections, the exhibition documents the best in British design and innovation from last 60 years.

Included in this prestigious exhibition is the Lecson Audio system created by Allen Boothroyd and Bob Stuart, the co-founders of Meridian Audio, who still lead the company today. They created the system in 1974, three years before they founded Meridian Audio.

"We are very proud that one of our earliest and most influential products has been selected to be part of this prestigious exhibition", says Allen Boothroyd. "For the Lecson to be shown at the V&A alongside products from other iconic British brands such as Jaguar, Alexander McQueen and Concorde is a privilege.

Boothroyd goes on, "This exhibition represents the rich heritage and finest craftsmanship of British design and manufacturing for which this country has become renowned - something to which we are very honoured to have contributed since we started out 40 years ago." 

One of the most innovative products of the 1970s, the Lecson reinvented the relationship between design and function. Before its release, hi-fi equipment was housed solely functionally. Simple grey boxes with knobs represented the height of artistic endeavour and the aesthetic of hi-fi products remained unchanged for many years - until the Lecson.

The Lecson did away with monochrome boxes and knobs. The power amplifier was housed not in a dull cube of metal, but in a ribbed cylinder that was not only striking to look at, but was designed to efficiently dissipate the heat. The control unit, instead of a block of buttons and knobs, used a spectrum of coloured keyboard-like sliders making it both both bold in appearance and incredibly intuitive in use. The Lecson made the leap from something that was not merely acceptable as a piece of equipment, but also desirable as an objet d'art.

Selected in 1976 for the New York Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) permanent collection, this iconic piece won Bob Stuart and Allen Boothroyd the first of three British Design Council Awards in 1974, 1982 and 1988. Now sought after by collectors, it is believed that approximately 50 Lecson systems are still in existence and at auction they fetch significant sums.

Since the release of the Lecson, Bob and Allen's work has continued to re-define the consumer electronics industry. Working from Meridian's headquarters in Cambridgeshire, UK, they have retained their position at the forefront of the high-end consumer technology sector, where Meridian is today widely recognised as representing the pinnacle of audio/video performance in the home. Seen as pioneers, the company has realised consistent success. Meridian's products are now available in over 70 countries world-wide and the company recently opened its eleventh boutique, in Singapore.

Since its inception, Meridian Audio has been honoured with over 165 awards from around the globe, in addition to the three coveted British Design Council Awards for Outstanding British Products which Bob and Allen have received for their exceptional designs.
