Library: Software

Many Meridian products can be configured using Windows programs with an RS232 connection. These programs are suitable for Windows 95/98/ME/XP/NT/2k/XP and can be run without the product if you would like to explore them.

Library/Software

Many products in the G Series are configured with a new software tool called mconfig.exe. In due course this new software will also support setup of Meridian's flagship 800 Series. Until then you may need both mconfig.exe (G Series) and meridian.exe (800 and 500 Series) installed on your PC.

All current Meridian products also have operating firmware that can be updated using a computer.

Warning: Do not change the software in your product unless directed to do so by Meridian personnel or your dealer. Do not update operating software if you are unsure about any aspect of the process - if in doubt ask first!

New Download Area

Over the coming weeks we are migrating software, firmware and handbook downloads to a new procedure. We are offering a single download area to keep your tools, firmware and documentation up to date.

The new versions of the configuration program, flash uploader and control window can automatically check for updates whenever they are run. You can select which files are downloaded to your computer.

The download area is now open for updates to MCommand (the control window), WinFup (flash uploader), Meridian.exe (the legacy configuration program), USB driver; firmware and all handbooks.

Please note: from now on, firmware will be placed in individual subdirectories, e.g.
C:\Program Files\Meridian\Firmware\G_series\G98\.

To update a product you need to identify the .mfp file that applies to it. For example, to update G91 you will use:
C:\Program Files\Meridian\Firmware\G_series\G91\G91.mfp.
WinFup will automatically work out whether your G91 has AM/FM or DAB.

Please note: you must always use the latest version of WinFup.

If you right-click on an .mfp file in WinFup you can display a description of updates.

Please read the section below on Firmware installation.

Now visit the download area.

Firmware Installation

1) Check the version number in your product by pressing 'Display' in standby. Do not upload firmware unless we are providing a later version.

2) Locate the correct .mfp for your product group.
The location will be subdirectories of

3) Connect a null-modem RS232 cable from your PC to the product.

4) Double-click the .mfp file to launch WinFUP.

5) Follow the instructions.

Note: G68 can be configured using its USB port. To enable this feature you will need to install a driver on your computer. These drivers are supplied by FTDI, the latest version is available from the download area

For firmware for all versions of 800 please contact your dealer.
